The holiday of sukkot is upon us, when jews around the world will take part in very visibly iconic rituals such as eating in outdoor structures called sukkahs,. The seven days of sukkot —celebrated by dwelling in the sukkah, taking the four kinds, and rejoicing —are followed by shemini atzeret/simchat.
